5 letter words…

Are you a member of the two million “Nerdy Wordy Club“, logging on to solve the daily New York Times Wordle Game?   In January 2022, the newspaper purchased Wordle from John Wardle, who developed the word game for his girlfriend because she loved crossword puzzles.  It provides entertainment, a challenge (sometimes frustrating!) and a respite from the current events and whatever clutter that lurks in the back of your mind.

Not to be left out of the fun, Canada has its own word game, Canuckle.  Mark Rogers, a Canadian, devised a wordle-inspired game for his children who played Wordle but didn’t always understand the meaning of the word that solved the puzzle.  The correct “5 letter word” of Rogers’s game has a Canadian theme that he thought his children would relate to more.  For me, though, knowing that the word has a link to Canada somehow only adds more pressure to figure out the answer.  Canuckle has an end game…July, 1, Canada Day.

If you’ve become obsessed with the above, (and you have the time!), you are ready to move on to Quordle, four games at once using the same letters,  and Octordle, eight games on the same screen!  On Tuesday, I solved all four puzzles.  I wish I could say it happens every day, but I can’t…more often than not, I miss at least one of the games.

How to Play” these games are well explained online if you want to join the club.

The last two words you want to see pop up on the screen are “So Close“…it means you were not successful today…better luck next time!

Are you also obsessed with “5 letter words“?

P.S.  If word games are not your thing, you may enjoy the geography game “Globle”.

  1. Yes, I’m hooked on Wordle and Quordle. I also check out Heardle but I’m not as good at recognizing music in a few bars or Nerdle that is math based which mostly makes my head hurt. I hadn’t heard about Canukle so will add it to the list of my morning routine. 😁

    1. Hi Diane, wow…you have gone way beyond me! I hadn’t even heard of Heardle or Nerdle. I have a feeling the math one would make my head hurt too. I will be checking them out though. xox Judy❤️

  2. I’ve never heard of any of these Judy but I love word search games and the games you’ve mentioned sound great. I’m obsessed with Sudoku right now and would like to try something new so I’ll give these word games a try. Congratulations on solving the four puzzles at once and good luck with your next challenge! Hugs, Karen xo🥰

    1. Hi Karen, I would start with Wordle and soon you will be on your way…you may have to set aside more computer time in your day! Have fun, xox Judy ❤️
