With all the smoke in the air, I feel like I’m on the set of a scary movie!
The air quality has been so poor, making gardening (at such a busy, crucial time) nearly impossible. Yet, somehow the garden does not disappoint…so many plants bloom in the same week. I don’t recall this happening in the past…do you?
This week the Lily of the Valley opened, the dogwood is in bloom, the tulips are still hanging on, a rose awaiting planting has opened, and the lilacs are scenting the whole garden and indoors.
I’m sure you’ll agree these first weeks of Spring are glorious, and the peonies and alliums haven’t even bloomed yet… more beauty to come!
Hopefully, any rain in the forecast materializes and the smoke lifts. And more importantly, it brings some relief for the out-of-control wildfires and the brave, tireless firefighters fighting to rein them in.
