A Bird’s Eye View…

Peering out of an aeroplane window is one of the only times we have the same perspective that our feathered friends have.  You may have marvelled at the view of colourful geometric plots of farmland just as crops are about to be harvested or the precision of the layout of new suburban development.  Or if you have looked up your address on Google Earth, were you as curious as I was to see what your little bit of the world looked like from above?

Bunny Guinness had a YouTube video a couple of weeks ago on treehouses, not as glamourous as the one in the photo (left) but nonetheless a coveted playhouse for children or for those young at heart.

We didn’t have a treehouse when I was growing up but I did climb the massive poplar trees that lined my grandparent’s long driveway.  There were no cell phones or social media to distract me back then, and I recall loving the way the branches swayed in the wind and the freedom I felt hiding away from the grown-ups.  My grandmother’s garden lay below and I  wondered how she managed to plant the vegetables to line up perfectly row after row.

Recently I was gifted a once a season package of drone photos of my front and back garden.  The Spring photo should have been taken by now but with everything in the garden being so far behind, I may opt to have the first round of photos taken in Summer.  There is never going to be a perfect day to have the garden photographed but since it’s a one time opportunity, I want to have it looking its best (for that split second in time).  I’m curious to see just how off the straight lines in my garden plan actually are!!!

Summer is just days away and I know it’s the favourite season of many.  If you’re travelling, I hope you find great adventure or if you’ve decided to spend the season in your home town, I hope the sun shines bright by day and a soft breeze cools you at night.

I’m anticipating a busy summer and have a few projects I hope to share with you this fall.  I’ll be in London in July.

Enjoy the summer, save some time to daydream and be as free as a bird…

Let’s get together again in September,

xox Judy

  1. Hi Judy….I hope you post the pictures of your garden when you have them. I would love to see them! Our weather here in the Okanagan has also been very unpredictable this year. Much cooler and wetter than what we are used to. Have a Great Summer!! Xo

    1. Hi Pat, so lovely to hear from you. The cooler wetter weather is probably welcome considering that fire season is upon us. Hopefully there will be plenty of sunny days for you and your family to be on the lake doing all the water sports you so enjoy. Have a wonderful summer, xox Judy❤️
