In the spring of 2019, I decided to take out the raspberry bushes in my side garden and plant peonies in that spot. On the opposite side of the walkway was a row of already well-established peonies…this small garden is now called the “Jardin de Pivoine”.
The peonies this summer were abundant and more beautiful than I can ever remember. I have many different varieties and thankfully they don’t all bloom at the same time making for a long blooming season.
I still have a few bags of peonies in the bud phase in the fridge. I will be able to enjoy peonies in the house for the last weeks of summer.
