Turning the page on the past year often leaves me in a melancholy mood…why I’m not so sure…
In years past, New Year’s Eve was marked by a sparkly, elaborate party with good friends, an occasion to bring out your best party dress (that hopefully still fit after all the Christmas indulgences) and your highest heels (ouch) to dance the night away. Those celebrations were always unforgettable good times, the icing on the festive season. Over the years many of us have opted to spend a quiet evening at home, a new tradition that I love. Often midnight slips by, ringing in the new year, and I haven’t even been a witness.
This years resolution was inspired by George W. Bush (of all people!!!). As I listened to his heartfelt eulogy to his late father, he mentioned something that really stuck with me. He said that although his dad lived for a long time, he really lived his life and “knew how to die young“. As I thought about his words, I wondered if I was living my life to the fullest or was I letting fear (or whatever other negative emotion) creep into the decisions I was making. For this year and into the future, I’ve resolved to live young…
Wishing you all a happy, healthy and memorable New Year.
Love, Judy xox
