Celebrate A New Beginning…

Turning the page on the past year often leaves me in a melancholy mood…why I’m not so sure…

In years past, New Year’s Eve was marked by a sparkly, elaborate party with good friends, an occasion to bring out your best party dress (that hopefully still fit after all the Christmas indulgences) and your highest heels (ouch) to dance the night away.  Those celebrations were always unforgettable good times, the icing on the festive season. Over the years many of us have opted to spend a quiet evening at home, a new tradition that I love.   Often midnight slips by,  ringing in the new year, and I haven’t even been a witness.

Screen Shot 2018-12-25 at 1.22.43 PMThis is the time of the year when I often feel accountable,  only to myself, for broken resolutions in the past year.  However, last year’s resolution was an exception.  I had resolved to be kinder, and in doing so, I took the time to be present…in the moment…making for meaningful, positive connections with both acquaintances and strangers.    I was rewarded for keeping this promise to myself, and I want to continue to be aware,  knowing that just a few moments of kindness makes a real difference in my daily encounters. Last years resolution will continue on…

This years resolution was inspired by George W. Bush (of all people!!!).   As I listened to his heartfelt eulogy to his late father, he mentioned something that really stuck with me.    He said that although his dad lived for a long time, he really lived his life and knew how to die young“.  As I thought about his words, I wondered if I was living my life to the fullest or was I letting fear (or whatever other negative emotion) creep into the decisions I was making.  For this year and into the future, I’ve resolved to live young

Wishing you all a happy, healthy and memorable New Year.

Love, Judy xox

  1. Beautiful sentiments on kindness. Not only does kindness leave the recipient feeling better, it makes us feel better about ourselves too! Still missing CC on Whyte. All the very best in the New Year.

  2. Judy,
I have really enjoyed reading the first of your blogs. Such insight into who you are and what is important to you. If you sewed, you’d be Chanel herself. Rhonda
